Thrift stores are awesome — just ask Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. I love finding unique castaways and refashioning them into something cool and useful.
A few months ago, I had $20 in my pocket so off I went to my local secondhand store. There, calling my name, was this lonely lampshade. It was banged up and abused but I really loved the texture and color of the lampshade paper. So after a fifty cent transaction, it came home with me.
What did I do with the lonely lampshade you ask? I popped some tags…….literally. With some craft store tag punches, ribbon and cord, I made a pile of these cool gift tags.
So, take a trip to your local thrift store and prowl around to discover what interesting pieces you can score and repurpose. As the Thrift Store lyrics say, “One Man’s trash, that’s another man’s come up.” Huh?
